Lounge or bar in Catahoula Hotel New Orleans
Restaurant/places to eat in Catahoula Hotel New Orleans
Property building in Catahoula Hotel New Orleans
I'm OB-sessed with this quaint, romantic place tucked away on a side street in the CBD of New Orleans. Words won't get the vibe just right but this modern day Inn/boutique hotel is the very definition of my favorite word to describe these places. Juxtaposition! Don't be fooled by the small-space facade. The Catahoula magically creates space where one would expect something else. Pass by the comfortable lounge where a piano waits to be tickled and pocket doors slide to reveal a classy bar. Modern Kohler hardware paired with oxblood walls and stone floors provide the loungewear the Houla wraps you up in. The staff? So cool. So smooth. So chill that it's easy to picture them all in velvet smoking jackets and Balenciaga driving slippers. I very rarely am keen on writing reviews so... enough said! I don't like the fact that it will bevery difficult to find a place to lodge like The Catahoula in the future. Just like the Louisiana native breed, with it's smooth coat, striking colors and patterns, no other joint will ever compare again. This is one cool Cat!

the staff were great and friendly. Laura who checked me in asked how I had liked my room and if there was anything I might suggest to improve the hotel. I loved the industrial vibe of this former factory. I had a deluxe room with a huge bed, huge windows and a sofa and painted concrete floor. There is a beautiful inner courtyard which made me think of Morrocco and a wonderful roofdeck with various seating areas and potted cacti and other plants. Very relaxing. there is a bar in lobby and on the roof but apparently only open during busier days.I was here on Sunday. I liked the uniqueness of the place and it was close to Canal St and St Charles strreetcar. Short walk to French Quarter, also walking distance to WW2 museum and Ogden art museum.Liked the free coffee and cold water in the lobby.

The location, the ambiance, the staff! This is not a typical franchise "fancy" hotel. The building is old but the updates are great. We stayed in the flats side. The bed was absolutely so so so comfy!!!! The staff was so friendly. We had a mini fridge, TV (everyone complained the TV didn't work but we got it after a few mins and only 5 channels but we were there to explore). The room temperature was perfect and room size for us 2 was perfect as well. The bathroom was HUGE, two sinks. The shower didn't drain well but that is also okay. We've stayed in some fancy places but this was so quirky and cute. Walking to the French Quarter was a breeze! Not sure why anyone would complain about this place???

Nina

A great place to stay just a few blocks from the French Quarter. The facility was a renovated warehouse which had lots of charm and several terraces including a rooftop lounging area. Fresh coffee was available in the morning and ice water all day.

It's soooo beautiful and cozy! The beds were insanelyyy comfortable!! The staff were the sweetest and the price is really good if you book ahead. It's right in the middle of downtown and walking distance from the French Quarter!
